Asher Roth has given fans plenty of new music to hold them over until
his Def Jam debut. The untitled album may be getting pushed pass his
January release date, as Asher is expressing doubts in the major label
structure.
During his interview with Bootleg Kev, he praised rappers like
Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore who were successful in sticking with the
independent route. Although he didn’t say if he would be leaving Def Jam
to become a free agent, he feels that going indie helps give him more
artistic control. Read his comments below and check out the full
interview here. “All I want to say is, myself, these cats and everybody watching
this stuff, I think we’ve seen the recent success of just kinda doing it
yourself, believing in yourself and believing in good people. With that
being said, it’s great for me to sit back and see cats like Kids These
Days…and Chuck [Inglish] and that sticking to what you really believe in
paying off and getting that reinforcement from the fans. Look at
Kendrick [Lamar], Macklemore – these are perfect examples of people who
stick to what they believe in…and people are showing up now [to
support]. That’s huge for artists like us…we have a problem with
authority and it was bummer when people were trying to control what we
do for so long, and now it’s just great for a lot of artists and fans.” “To me, when I first came, everything happened so fast, I was too
dependent to a fault. Being on a major label – unless you’re activated
and you’re like – if you’re Rihanna [or] Justin Bieber, you’re good, you
have all the resources in the world. But otherwise, you’re
independent.”
Master P, Fat Trel, and Alley bring us another heater…

Andre 3000’s verse on T.I.’s “Sorry” got people talking, as his
verses usually do. But this time, a lot of the dialogue surrounded a
line in the verse where he briefly talks about how his personal issues
have jeopardized Outkast as a group. In the song, he raps, “And this the
type of shit that’ll make you call your rap partner/ And say I’m sorry
I’m awkward/ My fault for fuckin’ up the tours…”
Recently, while at T.I’s album listening for Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head,
Big Boi briefly addressed the line saying his player partner just
wanted to express how he felt. “When you do music it’s a form of
therapy. I guess he had some shit to get off his chest,” said Big Boi.
“Just like, when you write songs it’s about your life. It was dope.”
Sir Luscious added that 3K played the record for him prior to it coming out.
It’s Friday and most of us are leaving work to hit up happy hour. For
Mac Miller, though, he decided that knocking back a few brews would
motivate him to create some music. Check out Mac Miller as Larry
Fisherman playing piano for seven minutes. You’ll be surprised at how
good it actually is.
Young Chop sparked conversations from rap bloggers this morning when he
tweeted that French Montana and Drake will be jumping on the remix to
Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa.” As of now, Drake hasn’t confirmed it, but
French did retweet Young Chop so the rumors could be true. Check it out
below and look out for the remix to possibly hit the web soon.

Adam Lanza is the name of the 20-year old gunman who killed 27 people, including 20 children between the ages of 5 and 10 inside Sandy Hook Elementary School inNewtown, Connecticut.
The shooter entered the classroom of his mother Nancy Lanza, who was a teacher at the school and killed her before shooting 20 children, most in the same classroom according to the New York Times. Lanza also shot several adults before killing himself with a gunshot to the head.
There is a report that a family member of the killer was found dead at another location.
The mass shooting is among the worst in the nation’s history.
According to CNN the gunman used a .223 Bushmaster, a Glock, and a Sig-Sauer in the attack. No word on the models of Glock or Sig-Sauer.
Adam Lanza's older brother, 24-year-old Ryan Lanza, of Hoboken, N.J., is being questioned by police.
President Obama was visibly shaken when he spoke about the shootings during a press conference. Read part of what he said below.
"We've endured too many of these tragedies in the past
few years. Each time I learn the news I react not as a president but as
anybody else would as a parent.
"That was especially true today.
"I know there's not a parent in America that doesn't feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.
"The majority of those who died today were children, beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.
"They had their entire lives ahead of them, birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own.
Obama sighed.
"Among the fallen were also teachers - men and women who devoted
their lives to helping our children fulfill their dreams. Our hearts are
broken today for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of
these children and the families of the adults we lost.
"Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well, for
as blessed as they are to have their children home tonight, they know
that their children’s innocence has been torn away from them too early,
and there are no words that will ease their pain.
"As a country, we have been through this too many times. Whether it’s
an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a
temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in
Chicago - these neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and these children
are our children. And we're going to have to come together and take
meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the
politics.
"This evening Michelle and I will do whah every parent in America
will do - hug our children a little tighter and tell them that we love
them.
"There are families in Connecticut that cannot do that tonight and they need all of us tonight.
"May god bless the memory of the victims and in the words of scripture heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds."
Fox News is
reporting that the shooter's mom Nancy Lanza was shot in the face and
killed at home prior to her son, Adam Lanza, going to the elementary
school and gunning down her entire class.
NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut/AP) — CBS News is
reporting that at least 26 people are dead, including 18 students, after
a mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. The
gunman is among the dead.
CBS News’ John Miller reports
there is preliminary information that the gunman was the father of one
of the students. Miller additionally reports the gunman is 20 years old
and is from New Jersey.
The shooter was killed and apparently had two guns, a person with
knowledge of the shooting said. The person spoke on condition of
anonymity because the investigation was still under way. It is not known
whether the shooter took his own life or was killed.
CBS News reports that a second person is in custody and that SWAT is now investigating the home of the suspect.
A witness tells WFSB-TV that a second man was taken out of the woods
in handcuffs wearing a black jacket and camouflage pants and telling
parents on the scene, “I did not do it.”
Fox Connecticut reports that the shooting began in the kindergarten classroom.
“It’s just a bad situation,” Newtown Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Stoyak told CBS 2.
NPR is reporting that Connecticut is reaching out to other states to
help with autopsies because they don’t have enough medical examiners.
Two students and a teacher were also injured in the shooting and they
were taken to Dansbury Hospital, spokeswoman Diane Burke told CBS News
York.
Teachers and police escorted students out of the building following the shooting.
“It was a very orderly evacuation given the circumstances,” Connecticut Post reporter Brian Koonz told CBS New York.
One mother tells CBS 2 reporter Lou Young that it’s like a “war zone”
in Newtown. Her child told Young he had bullets “whizzing by” him in
the hallway and that a teacher pulled him into a classroom.
Connecticut State Police tell CBS Connecticut that it is “still an active situation.”
Police responded to the school shooting at 9:41 a.m. WFSB-TV reporter Len Besthoff calls it a “chaotic scene.”
Stephen Delgiadice said his 8-year-old daughter heard two big bangs
and teachers told her to get in a corner. His daughter was fine.
“It’s alarming, especially in Newtown, Connecticut, which we always thought was the safest place in America,” he said.
Mergim Bajraliu, 17, heard the gunshots echo from his home and raced
to check on his 9-year-old sister at the school. He said his sister, who
was fine, heard a scream come over the intercom at one point. He said
teachers were shaking and crying as they came out of the building.
“Everyone was just traumatized,” he said.
The school superintendent’s office says the district has locked down
schools as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of students and
staff. Schools in neighboring towns also were locked down as a
precaution.
State police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance says they have a number of personnel on the scene to assist.
The White House said President Barack Obama was notified of the shooting.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy says he’s spoken with federal
officials who have offered to provide help to the state and the Newtown
community in the aftermath of a deadly grade school shooting.
Malloy arrived in Newtown on Friday afternoon, hours after a shooting
that left the gunman dead and at least one teacher wounded.
The governor’s office said several state agencies, including
emergency management, public health and the Department of Children and
Families, will be coordinating the state’s response.
In addition, Malloy says State Police are coordinating law enforcement work with federal and local authorities.
It wasn’t clear how many people were injured at Sandy Hook Elementary
School in Newtown. Danbury Hospital said it has admitted three
patients.
This shooting rivals the massacres at Virginia Tech in 2007 where 32
people were killed and at Columbine High School in 1999 where 13 were
gunned down.
The worst mass school murder in American history took place on May
18,1927 in Bath Township, Mich., when a former school board member set
off three bombs that killed 45 people.

If you're a member of the Ukrainian parliament fighting skills come in handy.
Deputies from opposition and pro-government parties
blocked the first session of Ukraine's parliament on Wednesday
(December 12) after numerous fights erupted in the parliament chamber.
Scuffles erupted when members of several parties approached the
stand simultaneously and attempted to push each other out of the way.
At one moment a majority of those gathered in the parliament
chamber stood up and joined in. Deputies could be seen pulling each
other by their clothes, pushing and shoving.
A few members of parliament attempted to climb into the parliament speaker's stand and were being pushed off by others.
World heavyweight boxing champion Vitaly Klitschko, who heads the
UDAR (Punch) party, chose to look on and did not join into the brawl.
Wednesday's session of the parliament was to be the first test of
the cohesion of political forces underpinning Ukrainian President Viktor
Yanukovich with an expected vote on the nomination of Mykola Azarov for
prime minister, but it was marred by protest from the start.

Ma$e is back on the music scene and making noise after Diddy finally being released from his Bad Boy Records contract after 16 years. He sat down recently with Sway In the Morning to chop it up.
Ma$e speaks on the advice Notorious B.I.G. gave him to do as much as you can when you're hot because it's not guaranteed fans will be feeling you next year.
"That's what made me take advantage of doing something else," Ma$e told Sway. "I
knew I could do more than music but I didn't have the courage to really
step out and do it. I knew my whole life I was going to do something
other than just music. Music was just the direction people kept pushing
me in."
